Martin has expertise within the areas of mechanics, physics, and medical devices. He has experience from all fields of IP, especially prosecution and litigation. Prior to joining KIPA in December 2020, Martin worked in both private practice and for the industry, starting in 1999 at one of Sweden’s largest IP firms.
For a period, Martin worked at GM in Rüsselsheim, Germany, being responsible for Powertrain related inventions in Europe. Further in the industry, for a couple of years at Volvo Cars his worked included heading the patent team, patent troll negotiations, and handling Powertrain inventions.
Martin opened up an office in Munich, Germany, for a Swedish private practice and headed the office for two years before returning to Sweden.
Since passing the EQE (European Qualifying Examination) in 2003, Martin has participated in the work of examination committees for the EQE, drafting and marking papers of candidates. Also, Martin is appointed by the Swedish Government to act as technical expert in patent court proceedings.
