Pär acts for clients of a variety of sizes, from start-ups, and SMEs all the way through to multinational corporations, with a particular focus on small and medium sized technology companies for whom their patent portfolios are one of their major assets. He handles most patent aspects, from drafting patent, patent prosecution across multiple jurisdictions, patent strategy, filing oppositions and appeals and representing clients at oral proceedings before EPO, as well as providing strategic advice regarding the infringement and validity of patents.
Pär has obtained an MSc in Engineering Physics from Lund University, with emphasis on optics/spectroscopy and measurement/medical technology. He has also studied nanophysics. Following this, he worked as a researcher at Newcastle University, Dept. of Chemical Engineering, investigating the use of NIR spectroscopy for non-invasive measurements of turbid materials. After finishing his research he held a position as Project and Product Development Scientist, at a start-up company in UK, working with novel measurement techniques within the area of biochemistry. Prior to joining KIPA, Pär worked as a patent attorney for another IP firm.
The areas Pär has particular interests in are medical devices and technologies, software, optical systems, electronic devices, and mechanical devices.
